For my inspired artist, I decided to choose Mona Caron. Mona is a well known muralist (street artist) from San Francisco whose work is unlike any others. She was born and raised in Ticino, Switzerland and gets her inspiration from her childhood's environment and mom and dad. Using only her paint and paint brushes, she is able to create a beautiful work of art on the side of towering structures. With her current weed series, she has been taking here talents across the world painting astonishing images of growing plants on the side of various buildings. To see more of Mona's work, you can go to https://monacaron.com/narrative-murals#slideshow-0, or follow her Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mona.caron/ to stay updated on her current projects. Mona's work is inspiring to me because it shows that there is nothing too big to accomplish. Being able to paint beautiful pieces on seven story building's sounds crazy, but to her its like painting on a sheet of paper. I think that her work draws to me because it kind of reminds me of graffiti. Growing up in New York, you basically see most buildings covered in graffiti and I've always been amused by it. In my opinion Mona's work is more delightful than most graffiti pieces and it's also legal what she is doing.
